Vision Sunday

August 27 | DNA Guide

Be Real Together:

Take a few minutes to catch up, tell stories, and laugh together. Trust and friendship take time to build. If you’re launching a new DNA, one person should tell their story — what do we need to know about you? Next week, have another person in your DNA share their story.

Read Together: 2 Peter 1:3-11 CSB

The One Question:
Ask this question at your family meal or DNA.

If you attended Vision Sunday this week, what was your key takeaway? What are you looking forward to this next year at Reach?

Grow Together:
Use these questions to go deeper with your DNA or for personal study.

This week, as we celebrated Vision Sunday as a church family, Pastor Sean shared a message on where we've been and where we're going. We studied the passage above in 2 Peter and explored some big themes to apply. So, what are those big themes?

1. We have been supplied with everything we need to live for Jesus.
Peter tells us in vs.3 that the divine power of Christ himself gives us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him.

2. We are called to stand strong in the face of a corrupt world.
Peter tells us in vs.4 that we should escape the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire.

3. We must supplement or faith with Godly virtues to stand firm and bear good fruit.
To supplement means to supply needs/to support and make available what’s needed to help. Our relationship with Christ is one that we are supposed to nourish and grow in, that our lives are structured to cultivate spiritual health so we can thrive and bear fruit along the way.

Questions To Discuss:

  1. Supplement Your Faith. How will you commit to taking steps towards and with Jesus this year? Some ideas:
    • Getting more involved in community at Reach via Groups
    • Cultivating a lifestyle of prayer and worship
    • Take a class
    • Join Alpha as a participant or volunteer
  2. Strengthen the Church. How will you commit to contributing to the health and strength of the church? Some ideas:
    •  Pray regularly for our staff and elders
    • Give financially to help support the mission of Reach
    • Help carry the weight of loving / serving one another
  3. Serve the City. How will you commit to live out the phrase we commonly say here “be the church & reach the city?”
    • Who are you inviting to Alpha?
    • Have you ever done a prayer walk in the city?

Pray Together:

Take time to pray with and for each other.
