Portable Discipleship

May 7 | DNA Guide

Be Real Together:

Take a few minutes to catch up, tell stories, and laugh together. Trust and friendship take time to build. If you’re launching a new DNA, one person should tell their story — what do we need to know about you? Next week, have another person in your DNA share their story.

The One Question:
Ask this question at your family meal or DNA.

Pastor Sean shared how 3 of the most important and "portable" tools we carry with us to help us grow as disciples are people, the Bible, and the Holy Spirit. Out of these three things, which one do you feel you gravitate most naturally towards? Which one(s) do you struggle to regularly engage with?

Grow Together:
Use these questions to go deeper with your DNA or for personal study.

1. PEOPLE

There are three important ways for how to stay connected and stay filled. The first being “people.” We need a comrade, a coach and a community.

Read: Proverbs 18:24, 1 Corinthians 11:1, Hebrews 10:24-25

Who are these people for you? What would it look like for you to be one of these for others?

2. BIBLE

The second way to stay connected and filled is through the Bible. We do this by practicing devotion, memorization and discussion.

Read: Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Psalm 119:11, Acts 2:42, 1 Timothy 4:13

Search your heart, how often do you find yourself choosing to read the Bible? How does Scripture affect your day to day life? Do you desire to have accountability surrounding your Bible reading?

3. PRAYER

The third way to stay connected and filled is with the Holy Spirit.

Read: 1 Corinthians 6:11, Psalm 18:28, John 14:26, Romans 8:14

What do you believe about the Holy Spirit? Is there an area in your life you need the Holy Spirit's guidance in?

Pray Together:

Take time to pray with and for each other.
